Khao Yai Garden Lodge ★★★

The bedroom was amazing. Food was really good. Swimming pool nice.

The staff tried to rip us off. We want to go to the national parc a half-day but only full day programs were available. So we just ask for a taxi. 800 bath one way (20mn driving) that’s expensive! At 7pm, we ask for dinner, « kitchen is closed » Not commercial at all. Good hotel, so bad that the staff is not a good worker. And please, take care of the garden! There is a big potential.

Very friendly staff, large room, terrace, the trees in the garden with scientific names, the pool with the waterfall.

The garden was not maintained sufficiently.

The double bed was quite comfortable and the room given was a large one since it was a family room.

The whole resort was not maintained well, there was no waterfall in the garden as shown in the photos. The room given was old and dirty. There was a lizard in the room and the door to the wardrobe could not be open. The bathroom was not clean and there were cobwebs around. Water from the taps smells of rust. I would not come back to this resort again.

Nobody on reception the entire time I was there. To book tours and taxis I had to ask/ gesture for the security guard to call the manager on his mobile phone. Manager finally appeared at one point and knocked on my room at 00:30 and woke me up to clarify what time I wanted the taxi in the morning. Pretty inappropriate and poor service. Restaurant also closed the whole time

Cleanliness was very poor, curtain was so dusty, bed sheets were dusty as well. Could smell the dust when entering the room Surrounding , trees, Sala were not well maintained

The best part was checking out a day early.

Most everything. The standard rooms are in the front and that was unfortunately where I was booked. In the back later of the property there are newer nicer buildings which appear to be closed up in anticipation of high season. They are included for fairness. All pictures posted here are unedited, taken on site at the property.

The staff I did see were, on the whole, pleasant and helpful, and my bed was relatively comfy. The tour was good too.

The room wasn't in great condition and the shower barely worked - I would normally put up with this but considering I paid more than average for my stay here I expect better. The hotel's leaflet states they have a restaurant...they don't, I was given a cooked breakfast in the morning, yes, but was told to go to walk down a busy main road to other restaurants or to the 7/11 next door if I wanted food at any other time of day. The leaflet also states they offer a 'free transportation service from the bus/train station every day - they don't, they picked me up when I arrived but informed me that the driver and the hotel manager would be off the day I was leaving so told me to wait for the bus (I was not given any bus times, just 'every hour', so was expected to wait on the side of a busy main road with no noticeable bus shelter with all of my luggage for an unspecified amount of time - they didn't even offer to find a taxi or another driver or any other alternative which again, is not the kind of service I paid for). Given that the only other staff members I saw were a couple of cleaning staff (who to their credit were very friendly), I have no idea who this left in charge of the hotel, and indeed when I came to check out there was no one at reception and nobody in sight on the premises so I just left my key on the desk as others seemed to have done. Thankfully, my tour the previous day had actually been run by another place down the road called Greenleaf Guesthouse (Khao Yai Garden Lodge states they offer tours but in reality you are being tacked onto Greenleaf Guesthouse's tours) and so because I'd discovered them when arriving for my tour the previous day, I called them and they were very helpful and able to provide me with a driver from their place to the train station for 200 baht.

The set-up of the room was good. It was spacious. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The pool was quite clean. Breakfast was hearty.

The housekeeping quality and standards were quite low. The entrance to the property was not noticeable and appealing. The design of the bathroom has no logic. The shower area was narrow and open without a shower curtain, making the entire bathroom floor wet and slippery. The property needs to be well maintained as it had only a handful of staff to run the whole show, from reception, to food service, to housekeeping and to lawn cleaning.

Conveniently located.

It's low season, but nowhere was it advertised that the restaurant would not be open. After driving up from BKK on a Friday afternoon, the last thing I wanted to do was drive out to find dinner. I had stayed here, in a different, cleaner room, during high season, and that's why I returned, but was very disappointed this time around. Not value for money at all. The guard, however, was very cheery and helpful.

The staff really does its best during tours but that doesn't help :(

When it was new it might have been nice. Seems there is no maintenance at all. At tours you usually don't see so much animals despite Gibbons
